Protection

So, sometimes you come across a great post/spell and you just have to share it. I share no credit in this awesome protection spell except the fact of sharing it. So enjoy, take notes and stay safe. :)
By Rayneschild on paganpages.org DOP: 7/1/2011
Protection is something that I take seriously, you never know when someone will unleash their hefty bag of cosmic crap in your direction, so like a good pagan boy/girl scout, “Be Prepared.” I have charged some object’s with the intent of a constant watchful guardian type of protection, specifically I love to use gargoyles or griffins. I have been fortunate enough to find some very cool gargoyle’s at Dollar Tree, especially around Samhain, so I bring them home and use this to empower them for their important work:
"I charge these sentries made of stone,
Stand in silent guard over hearth and home.
Project from them protective light,
That is enforced by spirit’s might.
A loving comfort they are to me,
This is my will so mote it be!"
Small mirrors can also be found at dollar stores and craft stores and they too make very good “constant protectors”. This is the charge I use for them:
"Lovely mirror of silver light,
Always protect us day and night.
The negativity sent this way,
Return to sender without delay.
With harm to none I do this deed,
As is written in the rede.
By the pentacle I wear,
Earth, Fire, Water, Air.
Ruled by spirit as all should be,
This is my will so mote it be!"
I always cleanse anything I bring home before I charge it, usually with copal, but salt water works well for the mirrors, and you can add any herbs you wish to the water as well.
Finally, in circumstances where I feel extra oomph is needed I go to my altar and cast circle. I use Dragon’s Blood resin or incense because it help’s me truly feel and see a protective entity standing guard, and it is the “go to” in my mind for any type of protection work.
Here in this cloud of Dragon’s smoke
"Protection I do here invoke,
Above, Below, In front, behind,
Protected in body and in mind.
Let the energy I conjure here,
Extend to those that I hold dear.
Send harm away unsatisfied
Protective light my word’s abide.
Strong, unbroken, pure and white
I summon you with all my might.
By quickest route I bid you go,
This is my will and it is so!"
I try to use the pentacle and elements closing whenever possible, and in the interest of full disclosure, I didn’t write that, I found it on a yahoo site and whoever did write it should definitely get credit. Please feel free to use anything I post and change things to suit your situation. Blessed and protected be!!!!

1 leg in the broom closet

It has taken me many years to develop a comfort level of who I am and who I am destined to be. I knew my spiritual path since I was in my early teens. I went through a sort of denial for about a year in my mid teens and fully embraced it in my late teens. I started reading and studying everything I could. I was blessed that my Mother accepted me and my beliefs with open arms. I then fell for my future husband and because he was a christian, I pushed my beliefs deep down inside. I did this for 10 years, kept my spirituality to myself and I was ok with this because spirituality is a personal thing anyway. But as I neared the age of 30, it started to weigh on me and I needed to be who I am, in every aspect of my life. I found my old books, hit up web pages and secretly started to reconnect with myself and the Lord and Lady.
I came out of the broom closet to my husband last year. It was a little difficult for him. His experiences and knowledge with pagan/wicca/witchcraft were negative. Despite this, he accepted it but even thought he knows...he doesn't fully know. There is a still a discomfort there and until he genuinely wants to know about it, it will always be there.
Not long ago, my youngest son told his daddy that mommy is a "witch". My husband looked at me a little horrified and said "You're not, are you?" I simply told him that I can be referred to as that. I think that made him a little more uncomfortable and because of this, I will always be partially in the broom closet. I have to be careful what I allow him to see. It doesn't necessarily bother me except when it comes to our kids. I want to teach them and share with them my beliefs. It doesn't mean they have to follow it but there will atleast be an understanding.
Just a few weeks ago my youngest said to Hubby, "Wouldn't it be cool if Mommy was a witch and you were a warlock and you could just make things happen?". Hubby looked at me and said "Hmmm, I wonder where he got that?". Oh yeah, I shot daggers at him with my eyes! I simply replied, "It was just Halloween." Which my son agreed with that fact and why he said that. Grrrrrr! The man's lucky I love him. ;)
Due to my home intolerance and misunderstanding and even ignorance, I have found that simple spiritual things work best for me. Perhaps someday, I can fully leave that closet but for now, I am happy just to see the sunlight as I sit in the closet doorway.

Fairy Tea

I had to share this from Llewellyn's email I received today.
FAIRY TEA
Combine in a teapot:
3 tsp black tea
1/2 tsp chamomile
1 tsp
dandelion rood
1/2 tsp elder flower
1/2 tsp hops
1/2 tsp mugwort
1/2 tsp raspberry leaf
1 1/2 tsp rose hips
saying as you drop the herbs into the pot or filter basket:

"Black for power; apple of night, root of the sun, Lady’s
blessing, Lord’s leap for joy, then between the worlds to Fairy bramble, with
token of love, brewed to bring Fair Ones close to me."
If not using an automatic tea maker, boil water in a kettle and add to a teapot that
was warmed with a bit of hot water before the tea leaves and herbs were put in.
Let steep for five minutes. Warm a second teapot by swirling inside it more hot
water from the kettle. Pour out the water and strain the brewed tea into this
warmed pot. Add to taste in your teacup whatever sweetener and milk you like.
You may want to have something to eat such as cookies or tea biscuits (Scottish
shortbread is very good and can be found in most supermarkets), or other tea
snack. This can be part of your Cakes and
Wine
ritual toward the end of your spellwork, or you can use it to set the
mood prior to your Faerie magics.

The sun is setting and night is on it's way....come o'er my sisters for a practical magic kind of day
Walk through the garden gate

And knock on the door...

Feel at home my witchy friends and let your eyes and mind open some more.

Walk into our kitchen, the hearth of our home...
When you are amognst friends you are never alone.

Our familiars will greet you with a cuddle and purr

And the Aunts will concoct a delicious potion made with some liquor.

The sun has set and night has begun..

....we'll light some candles,

As a spell rolls off our tongues.

The night is ours, my sisters, the moon is shining bright,

So join me in some witchy fun and let the world see your inner light!

For all who have worked and fought for a fairer universe and a life of dignity and freedom

For the opportunity to learn and grow, the knowledge to teach and make choices
For the wisdom to live by hope and not fear and by our deeds not our words

For all that we have overlooked and taken for granted in our daily life
For being and letting us be blessed by that being
Goddess, mighty and powerful, tender and charitable, we most gratefully thank you now.

Season of the Witch

I went in to my local Michaels yesterday to check out their Halloween decor. Wow...what awesome things they have. I could just buy everything if dear ol Hubby didn't mind!

A simple money spell

Whenever you see a coin on the floor, step on it and say, "Money on the floor, Money at my door." Then pick it up and put it in your pocket.

A day to mark on the calendar!

My little monsters, ages 8 (almost 9) and 6.5 years old, have been in school for going on 3 weeks now. Since starting school, it has been a struggle to get both of them to school with no issues. My youngest has developed separation anxiety from Mom. He has already missed several days due to this. My oldest monster has moderate autism and usually is the one that I have issues with but not this time. However, the other day, he decided that he missed Mommy an awful lot too.
Now I admit, I know I am raising a couple of "Momma's Boys". I shower them with love and affection but I do not believe I go over board. They have rules. They have chores. They know that I expect manners, good behavior and no fighting and should they not follow those guidelines, they get a privilege taken away. They are good little monsters though, and Mommy Pixie loves her monsters.
So, today started as normal and I thought that once again, we were going to have a rough morning. NO! It went great! Sure a little grumbling and believe me, I know the monsters did not want to go to school but they went....no crying, no clingy-ness, no holding on to me for dear life!
After driving them to school I thought to myself....."This day needs to be marked on the calendar!"

Karma's a bitch

I decided to come up with a little karma chant the other day. I am tired of seeing countless assholes and other discourteous people and feeling helpless to do anything. Now of course, I am a firm believer in karma but sometimes I think karma could use a little nudge. Watching a random jerk speed through a parking lot of kids made me want to come up with something to help karma show him/her that they need to be a little more careful. Does it work? I'd like to think so. It sure makes me feel better than just muttering things under my breath and hoping karma bites him in the ass. The spoken and written word is a powerful tool. Now of course, I never wish harm on anyone and I firmly believe in the power of 3 so anything I do, I do with the utmost respect. So here is my little chant...if you use it, use it wisely.
Karma, Karma, make them see,
With harm to none, the power of three,
Make them see. Blessed Be.

There's a little witch in all of us.....

I am so excited to take part in my first blog party! I hope I am not biting off more then I can chew...lol! It is the 2nd annual Practical Magic Blog Party for all of those who LOVE the movie! I've never met anyone who doesn't, personally.
Everytime I watch the film, the little witch inside me seems to come to the surface a little more. I dance around the house more, I concoct more recipes and ventures in the kitchen and that spark of creativity seems to roar into a bonfire.
I dream of that lifestyle, of that knowledge and of that freedom and hopefully that will become more and more a reality for me but for now...I have this blog party and I am incredibly excited for it!

I created this blog as a self expression collage of emotions, life, creativity and spirituality as I continue my life journey of who I am destined to be. Welcome witchy friends...come and sit a spell.
